However, the Demon Knights escaped Hell, fleeing to Avalon. On this voyage, Etrigan made plans to turn over the Demon Knights to Lucifer in Hell.Īfter a battle in the ruins of Camelot where the Demon Knights defeated Morgaine le Fey, Etrigan managed to send everyone to Hell, where he worked alongside Lucifer to plan the conquest of Avalon. They all went to Alba Sarum, where they were honored, but also sent on another mission: To go to Avalon and revive the recently assassinated Merlin. Their victory at Little Pass had them known as the Demon Knights. In 1013 AD, at Little Springs, Etrigan was called forth by Jason to fight alongside Xanadu, Al Jabr, Horsewoman, Exoristos, Sir Ystin, and Vandal Savage to defeat the Horde of the Questing Queen. However, Etrigan was a hurdle that had to be dealt with: When Xanadu and Jason attempted to get married, Etrigan burned the church and killed the Minister. However, Xanadu seduced the Demon, saving her life, but also putting a difficulty in Jason's relationship with her. Jason of Norwich arrived at a poor time, as Merlin transfixed Etrigan and Jason into a curse: The Demon would live inside of Jason and they would have to switch between Hell and Earth.Īs part of Jason of Norwich (who would come to be called Jason O' the Blood, or Jason Blood), Etrigan was prepared to kill his lover, Madame Xanadu. However, as soon as Etrigan arrived, Camelot fell under attack by the Daemonites. Lucifer personally banished Etrigan to Earth. Lucifer made a deal with his son, Merlin, to send Etrigan to Earth to serve as Camelot's defense strategy. However, upon his rebellion, Lucifer defeated him, sending Etrigan to the lowest circle of Hell. For this uprising, he recruited soldiers from the Prose Demons (after a long battle for their leadership) and the Lyrics. However, Etrigan grew tired of serving Lucifer, and decided to start an uprising. Etrigan the Demon was a servant to Lucifer in Hell, with the duty to keep the lord of Hell entertained through rhyme.
